HOLIDAYMAKERS from the region will be given even more choice next summer as Humberside Airport opens up a new route to Tunisia.

The North African country is Humberside Airport's second new destination to be announced this year after Flybe opened weekly flights to Malaga in May.

The weekly flights to Enfidha, which will be operated by Thomas Cook Airlines are been hailed as a "fantastic option" by the airline, who hope the region will take advantage of the endless white beaches and perfect blue seas made accessible by the new route.

Tony Lavan, Humberside Airport director, said: "We're delighted Thomas Cook will be introducing a new weekly service to Tunisia from Humberside Airport.

"We are pleased to be able to offer our passengers more choice and we are sure this new destination will prove popular with passengers from the region."

Tunisia is the perfect place to mix a relaxing beach holiday with adventure.

Some of the more popular resorts include Hammet, which can be explored on foot or by horse-drawn carriage.

The winding streets of Hammet are bustling with street vendors and beyond this are cafes and restaurants situated on the beach where fishing boats rest on the water.

Port el Kantoui also offers a fantastic place to unwind for Humberside Airport passengers who can experience the cobblestone streets at this picturesque fishing village.

Ian Derbyshire, chief executive of Thomas Cook UK and Ireland said: "With its mix of beaches and exotic atmosphere, Tunisia is a fantastic option for families, couples and groups.

"We're committed to our flying programme from the region, so we're really pleased to be able to offer even more choice to travellers from Humberside Airport."
