Fish nets October Medal as ladies' captain is beaten

Ladies' captain Lynne Winspear's drawn team played a friendly against vice-captain Pat Brooks, with the latter's team successful.

The ladies played the October Club Medal, with Lyn Fish winning Division One with nett 83.

Runner-up was Winspear and Jill Ridley took third place.

In Division Two, Brooks and Joan Thornley both carded nett 76 but Brooks took the medal with a BB9. Sally Wood was third with nett 81.

Winner of the October Stableford was vice-captain Brooks with 31 points. Maggie Ellison was runner-up with 27.

The ladies completed the Daily Mail Foursomes and the winning pair were Lucy Atter and Trish Baggaley with nett 77. Runners-up Esther Kirk and Fish recorded nett 80.

Callum Bruce won the October Junior Medal with a par round of 72 off a 24 handicap.

Josh Storey and Scott Fish both returned nett 74s.

The men's section completed the BSC Pairs Trophy for 2012 and the silverware was won by J Storey and Tom Gillespie with a nett 39 points.

Dave Barratt and Paul Gelder came second with Graham Fillingham and M Burton, both carding 36 but Dave and Paul had a BB3.

In Division One (12 and below) of the October Monthly Medal, seniors' captain Chris Keogh won with a nett 71, five ahead of the field, with Bohdan Kyrnyckyj carding a nett 76.

In Division Two (13 to 18), Anthony Bell was the winner with nett 71 and runner-up was Mark Burton (nett 73). Paul Medley (nett 75) was third.

In Division Three (19 and above), Paul Houghton had a brilliant nett 66 – four ahead of Paul Geary. Roy Todd took third place with nett 79.

The seniors played a Stableford and the winning score was 40 points from John Millman. Keith Brown carded 37 and Tom Gillespie nett 36.
