Well after suffering a few doses of 'Man-Flu', I was shall I
say inspirited not forced into looking into what foods can naturally improve my
immune system. This was a interesting search when I could pull myself from
under my warm duvet.

It looks like it will take more than the '5 a day' to give
the immune system a boost it needs, and a good regular healthy diet to maintain
it too. Wine & Chips isn't good ! Oh well!
To have a soothe running immune system, your plate needs to
be full of nutritious foods & you need to be drinking 8 – 10 glasses of
water a day (according to my research) to keep the dreaded 'Man-Flu' away,
including any other cold or flu viruses.
So what are the hot list of foods you need to be eating?
Here is my Top Six -
1-
Sweet Potatoes, or other Orange coloured
Vegetable i.e. Carrots. My research enlightened me that these types of vegetable
holds 40% of Vitamin A needed to sustain a healthy immune system.
2-
Garlic. Potent & flavoursome. This little favourite
contains Allicin. Which helps fights Bacteria & infection. On reading about
garlic, there have been test & experiments that have proofed that Garlic
can also help prevent some Cancers if you eat alot of it... Boy watch your
breath ! Garlic repellent – eat Parsley !
3-
Oats & Barley. These have been proofed to
help wounds heal quicker & help antibiotics along the way too.
4-
Tea. Apparently people who drink black tea have
more antioxidants in their bodies to help fight off virus'. This means you have
to drink about 5 cups a day and to get more out your tea bag bob it up and down
a few times while your brewing. Works for me !
5-
Fish, Shell fish like Lobster, Crab, Oysters
helps white blood cells and clears the body of the flu. Salmon, Mackerel &
Oily Fish like Herrings have Omega 3 and proteins. Reducing inflammation and
helps the airflow to the lungs.
6-
Mushrooms. For centuries people have looked at
Mushrooms to help immune systems along the way. They make your good white blood
cells more aggressive. Add some to your pasta, or rice dishes with some Rapeseed
or Olive oil.
Again, it all comes down to your
lifestyle and of course having a balanced diet. To me it has benefited me
helping me cope with my work load and I feel more healthy & more
importantly, more vibrant.
