manufacturing: Employees at an East Yorkshire steel manufacturers are taking part in hearing screenings.

National charity Deafness Research UK will bring its hearing screenings to Bridlington based BW Industries in October, where employees will be able to take part in screenings and receive important information on good ear health.

Vivienne Michael, chief executive of Deafness Research UK, said: "Free hearing screening is a great way to check if your hearing is as it should be.

"So, whether you have experienced exposure to loud sounds at work or play, we hope the chance to get a hearing health check-up will support health and safety in the workplace and encourage anyone concerned about their ears to come forward."
