Freeman Bennett confirms Scunthorpe shop closure at the end of March
A jewellery store in Scunthorpe will cease trading at the end of this month - in the second nail in the coffin for jewellery stores in the town.
The Freeman Bennett store in the Foundry Shopping Centre, which employs four staff, will cease trading on Thursday, March 28.

This is the second nail in the coffin for jewellery stores in Scunthorpe, following the closure of Ernest Jones on Scunthorpe High Street on February 18.
A spokeswoman for Freeman Bennett said: "We regret we are pulling out of Scunthorpe due to the current economic climate.

"It will cease trading next Thursday and I believe this will be at 5pm."
Shutters went up on the Scunthorpe store on March 18, with a notice which said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, this store will be closed until Wednesday, March 20, 2013."

“The people who try to support Scunthorpe town centre are still charged car parking too.....for what? A walk round some junk shops, and not so good cafe's. I will stay in Brigg, and Barton...smaller but better shops.”
