RENEWABLES: A free event exploring how the Government's Energy Bill could affect the area's renewables ambitions is being held.

Organised by Friends of the Earth, it takes place at the Albemarle Music Centre in Ferensway on Friday, from 11.30am to 2pm.

Speakers include Lord Haskins, MP Alan Johnson, Andy Atkins, of Friends of the Earth, Marc Paish, of Pulse Tidal, and Sam Pick, of Renewables Network.

Mr Atkins said: "Energising England will highlight the significant role the Humber region could play across several fields of renewable energy if the Government gets the policy framework right."
