God gives us strength needed to face anything
IF the first three weeks of January are anything to go by this year is going to go by in a flash, which is good in some ways, but not so good in many more.
I'm sure that most of us began this year with a string of things we plan and hope to achieve.
There may be holidays booked, the intention to visit friends you perhaps feel were neglected last year; places to go, people to see and things to do.
Will there be enough time to do it all?

The honest answer is probably not, for time seems to run away with us, especially as unplanned things creep in and steal our time, our attention and our energy.
Of course, not everyone will feel that time rushes by at an unstoppable speed.
Too often people find themselves having to face and endure things that seem to last an eternity, there seeming to be no end in sight to the hurting and the ordeal.
Whatever the future might hold, whether we are able to fulfil and achieve some or all of our hopes and dreams, or whether we find ourselves at the whim and dictate of someone or something else, one thing is true, the strength we need to face it all is given to us by God.
As the gospel song says: "Put your hand in the hand of the man who stilled the water, put your hand in the hand of the man who calmed the sea."
Put your hand, your whole being, your whole life, your present and your future in the hand of God and in doing so know that, at whatever speed you travel, you never journey alone.
