Golfer Anthony marches to monthly medal win at Normanby Hall

A TURN out of more than 60 members contested the March Monthly Medal at Normanby Hall.

In Division One (12 & below) Anthony Andrew was the winner, scoring a nett 61, with Sam Pavlovskis (nett 69) the runner-up. David Walden took third place with his nett 70.

In Division Two (13 to 18) it was Phil Medley who picked up the medal, carding a nett 69, which was two better than David Hearn, Mark Burton and David Barratt

In Division Three (19 & above) Andy Fish's nett 64 put him top of the pile. William Christopher took second ahead of Allan Hilton (both net 70) courtesy of a BB9.

The Juniors' Medal was won by Callum Bruce with a nett 64, beating Josh Storey by a BB9

The seniors completed three competitions during February, including round seven of the Telegraph Shield. Stuart Buss was the winner with 40 points on a BB9 ahead of Stan Jowett

Trophy World round was won by Bob Byford, returning 38 points, while Allen Hilton and David Hewitt both carded 35 point scores.

The seniors took part in a better ball pairs competition over 16 holes and a solitary point separated the top three places,

Richard Wrigley and David Fowler (42 points) were the winners, again via a countback which meant Stuart Buss and Terry Raines had to settle for second place.

Ken Crowston and Graham Fillingham recorded 41 points to claim third.

In the ladies' section the first qualifying EWGA Medal this year was played and in Division One (0 to 20) the winner was Lucy Atter with a nett 72.

Michelle Willerton (nett 75) was second after her BB9 meant she finished ahead of Trish Baggaley.

In Division Two (21 to 36), Marie Drinkall took the medal with a nett 81, ahead of vice-captain Viv Coult via a BB9.

The ladies of Forest Pines have held their first medal of the year.

Sue Over shone with a 73, reducing her handicap to 16.

Helen Scruton was second with 76 and lady captain June Marshall won the bronze with 79.
