Golfer Nigel Dexter wins monthly medal at Normanby Hall

MEMBERS at Normanby Hall have played the first competition since the New Year.

Forty-five men turned out to play the February Monthly Medal, played over a shortened course of 16 holes.

In Division One (12 and below), last year's captain, Nigel Dexter, picked up the medal with 61 points.

Chris Keogh MBE was in second place with 66 points and Paul Gelder took third with 67.

In Division Two (13 to 18), the winner was Phil Bradley with a score of 58 points.

Mark Burton pipped David Hearn to second place, with both recording 59 points.

Peter Wilson had the best score of the day, carding 53 to take the medal in Division Three (19 and above).

Brian Duffort scored 57 to take second place, relegating Will Christoper to third with the same score.

Six juniors played their first medal, the February Medal, with Jamie Leigh returning a score of 49.

Alex Barratt was runner-up with 52, beating brother Liam who carded a nett 58.

The ladies also braved the cold weather to complete the February Winter Medal over 16 holes.

Vice-captain Lyn Fish was the winner with nett 61 and runner-up was Sue Hilton with nett 66.

This year's ladies' captain, Pat Brooks, was in third place with nett 70.
