Golfers brave showers at Holme Hall near Scunthorpe
MORE than 130 players braved the showers to play in the RNLI Charity Individual Stableford, the first of Holme Hall's summer individual competitions.
The competition is played in two divisions – 15 handicap and below and 16 handicap and above – and it was in the lower handicap division where the winner came from.

Chris Walker scored a very creditable 42 points to take the title from Paul Williams (41), who beat current captain Chris Overton on count-back.
Third place went to Pete Moss on count-back from Nigel Dent, both with 40 points.

In the higher handicap division, Tom Lewan (40) took the honours, two points clear of Chris Hardy and Pete Murray, who were separated by count-back.
At Elsham, Sally Leaning and Su Waldron won the Jackson Trophy, a foursomes medal with a high/low draw for partners, with a nett 73.5.
Barbara Barton and Dawn Blewitt (nett 77) came second.
Entry for Elsham's first Spring Open Am/Am was full, with 23 teams of four from all over Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties competing in the rain.
The best two scores on each hole counted and players played off 3/4 handicap.
First place went to Keith Barnes, Kev Stanham, Andy Longford and Paul Holloway, from Ashby Decoy, with 82 points.
A team from Boston, Welton and Woodhall Spa came second with 78 points.
In third was a team from Bradford Woolley Park, Otley with 77.
There were 12 twos.
