Great service for less at local garage

A car service garage is continuing to support the Buy Local campaign.

Rainton of Ashby is offering 10 per cent off all services – with the exception of fuel – to loyalty card holders.

Gary Carnaby, owner of the Collum Avenue-based business, said he was pleased to be part of the scheme.

And he said he thought it was important for people to support local, independent businesses.

He said: "If people want to keep their High Streets and town centres alive, then it is crucial they keep using the businesses.

"Otherwise, before long, we will just be a High Street of takeaways and charity shops.

"We need daytime businesses as well as evening businesses."

Mr Carnaby said the firm had taken on extra business since joining Buy Local.

He said: "It has gone very well and it is nice to see regular customers as well as new customers using the cards."

Rainton of Ashby offers a wide range of services for customers, with an emphasis on providing good value-for-money.

Mr Carnaby said: "I think we are a good value for money garage and we treat all cars as though they are our own. We only fit what is required and I think we give good value services and MoTs."

He added: "We use qualified mechanics and we give a bit of old-fashioned service, including an attendant service on our petrol pumps.

"We are happy to check oil and tyre pressure free of charge."

The garage is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 1pm on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays.
