GRASP the Nettle, a local not-for-profit organisation working in North Lincolnshire, is looking for people to get involved in two new projects based in Barton-Upon-Humber, says Voluntary Action North Lincs.
Both projects are aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of the local community and helping to improve the health and opportunities available to local families and individuals.

Sprout, run on the Caistor Road estate, is a project funded by the Health Lottery to help local residents create a community garden/allotment.

Families and individuals who join the project can borrow any of the equipment for many activities from gardening to active play, and access courses on gardening, healthy eating and exercise.
Ellen, a resident taking part in the project, said: "It's great that people can grow vegetables right on their doorstep. The estate only has one shop and people struggle to get healthy veg up here, especially families and the elderly."
The other project is Soup Dragons, which runs a soup club supported by the NHS, on alternate Wednesdays at the Viking Resource Centre and at Wilderspin School Museum. Anyone can come along if they want to learn how to make healthy soup or have any of their own great family recipes to share.
You can get involved as a volunteer cook or just come along and enjoy a free bowl of soup and a chat.
The best recipes will go into a soup booklet that will be available locally.
People who join the club will be able to borrow quality kitchen equipment, such as slow cookers and soup makers to use at home if they pay just £2 annual membership.
Their new skills could also be accredited as Grasp the Nettle is an AQA Unit Award Registered Centre.
Belinda, a volunteer at the project, said: "The club is great, it is fantastic to see people getting together and sharing ideas and learning to cook new things. Everyone is really nice and it is great fun making new friends and eating soup that I have made myself."
To date, both projects have attracted additional funding from the Barton Lions, Barton Allotment Society, Bluecoat Charity, Spar, Co-op, New Primebake/Bakkavor and Tesco.
To get involved in either project, pop into the soup club between noon and 2pm on alternate Wednesdays or contact Cath or Geraldine at Grasp the Nettle on 01652 633924 or graspthenettle@live.co.uk
Alternatively, call Maureen at the resource centre on 01652 660018.
