“NLHomes , I know of a case where a single lady was complaining about been harassed for two years her housing manager did little to help her , leave it to me but did nothing to help , she had a nervous breakdown in the end and left NLH and went private . Only then was she informed about NLH having an anti social behaviour officer , Did the housing manager not know of this department,s existence .??”

Some want a good clip around the ear- hole to bring them in line and I am brave enough to admit that I was one of them. “DFlated: I think it really goes without saying that if there's an immediate problem (especially a threat to life or property) then the Police are the ones who need informing in the first instance to deal with the problem, rather than calling us. The point was, to inform us as well after the incident so that we can work together with the Police on the issue as it might be part of a wider problem which could be tackled in partnership (the alleged perpetrators could even be our tenants for example).

“I know down lodge moor riot vans used to always be there because of gangs outside the elderly homes. Well I dont know then I mean if the kids are just standing there they wont care but surely if they are doing something?”

“lincs88 - you've probably answered your own question, they get to the golf course and surrounding area pronto because their superior officers are all members or live in the area.”

I cnt say I like groups & gangs near my house and if there is I wont go outside not even to the shop & I live in relatively good area and im prob only afew yrs older than the kids outside.

But yeh agree with earlier commnet of if you swear out window at them, chase them off, retaliate they will come back because they will find it fun to see what you'll do next.

Usually the police response to groups of kids is pretty quick when they have been reported causing problems near kingsway golf course doing things riot vans have been known to turn up. so why near elderly homes they wouldnt care baffles me.”
