The application, which led to 13 letters of objection, went before the council's licensing (activities) sub-committee today.
But solicitor Andrew Pascoe, representing Booze Master, asked for the adjournment to allow more time to consider the application.
Mr Pascoe told the committee: "It is of significance with regard to the area and your decision will be very important not only to the applicant but the area generally."
The committee, chaired by Councillor Keith Vickers (Barton), agreed to the adjournment and a new date is yet to be announced.
