"Fibre broadband offers local firms and households new ways of working flexibly and allow large data and video files to be sent and received almost instantly. Other benefits include access to high quality videoconferencing and better back-up of computer systems."

North Lincolnshire Council is currently involved in a high-profile campaign to improve RURAL broadband speeds. This is unconnected with the work being undertaken by BT.

“Don't knock it just send it to the rural areas, we are still on Kbps. It seems BT are putting fibre in the same areas Virgin have it just to try to compete, nothing being done to improve the areas that need it, please Virgin come to the rural areas, don't need the 100Mbps just something that works without long delays trying to load a page.”
