The initial upgrade will give fibre access to just over 3,500 premises in Barton as part of a scheme that will benefit North and North East Lincolnshire.

Barton will be upgraded by the end of spring 2014, BT says.

The expansion includes a further investment in making fibre broadband more widely available in areas which already have the high-speed technology or are due to receive it.
