Historic Walcot Hall is the subject of a planning application for a wedding marquee to be sited there between May 1 and September 30 each year.

The request for permission has been lodged with North Lincolnshire Council by Walcot Hall Estate - Tony and Cindy Lane-Roberts.

They operate a wedding business on their land adjoining Walcot Hall, near Alkborough.

But rather than putting up and taking down a marquee for different weddings, they now want to keep a temporary one there during the warmer months.

that's the trouble when you answer someone but their post is then deleted

never mind though, it remains in my memory as quite a humorous observation”
