Hull firm AA Global plans anniversary jobs boost
AA GLOBAL is marking its first year of business in Hull with an expansion programme to provide up to 100 new roles within the company.
The translation and interpreting business will offer mostly freelance jobs and the workload will be dependent on the demand for particular languages.

Chief executive Kirk Akdemir said AA Global's progress during its first year in Hull has inspired confidence in the region and individuals who join the business can expect to be given chance to develop their skills and work for clients around the world.
He said: "It's been a year since we opened our office in Hull. In a recession, everyone appreciates there are hard times for all businesses but we are doing well, so we must be doing something right.

"We've got some really good clients around here and we are now looking to increase the number of clients in the public and private sectors.
"We are really happy and we want to return that to the community.
"Most of the new roles will be on the frontline, translating and interpreting.
"Once we have increased our work capacity, we will need more staff, such as support staff and sales personnel."
Mr Akdemir said the job roles are open to anyone who can offer their skills to the business. He said: "There are opportunities for everyone.
"We want to prove to people that it's not all doom and gloom in Hull.
"It doesn't always have to be about people losing jobs. Every little helps the city and we want to do our bit."
The business, at Hull marina, has been providing translation services to public and private sectors in the area, including local authorities and parts of the NHS, for a number of years before launching an office in the city.
Mr Akdemir said: "We opened in Hull because we already had a significant volume of work in this part of the world and we have managed to build on that very successfully."
AA Global will host a recruitment fair this month to help people find out about the jobs on offer at the firm.
Mr Akdemir said: "We are now at the stage where we need to strengthen our team with more people and more languages, so we have decided to hold a recruitment fair.
"The main focus will be on jobs in translating and interpreting but we are also looking for admin and business development staff to support our Hull office.
"We want to find out how people can help us and show what we can do for them.
"We will also offer help with personal development, securing additional qualifications and building their own professional networks.
"If someone comes armed with their CV and qualifications, they may have the opportunity to join us and can give staff their details."
The event will take place 10am to noon on Saturday, March 23, at the Mercure Hull Royal Hotel, city centre.
