Incorrect parking at night: Humberside Police issues warning to drivers
Humberside Police receives a number of calls from residents concerned about the way vehicles are parked on their street at night.
This can vary from vehicles parked the wrong way to vehicles parked with no lights.

As a result, officer's are reminding motorists about the rules and regulations about parking your vehicle on the street at night.
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: "Parking vehicles incorrectly can be very dangerous to other road users and can cause great distress for those people who live in the local area.

The people travelling in the car were thankfully not injured, but this could have been more serious.

Rule 248 - You MUST NOT park on a road at night facing against the direction of the traffic flow unless in a recognised parking space.Rule 249 - All vehicles MUST display parking lights when parked on a road or a lay by on a road with a speed limit greater than 30mph.Rule 250 - Cars, goods vehicles not exceeding 1525kg unladen weight, invalid carriages, motor cycles and pedal cycles may be parked without lights on a road (or lay by) with a speed limit of 30mph or less if they are - 1. at least 10 m(32 feet) away from any junction, close to the kerb and facing in the direction of the traffic flow2. in a recognised parking space or lay by.Other vehicles and trailers, and all vehicles with projecting loads, MUST NOT be left on a road at night without lights.
