Illegal parking hotline helping to punish offenders in Lincolnshire
More than eight calls per day are being made to report illegal parking in Lincolnshire via a new hotline.
The service allows residents to report persistent problem parking which has gone unpunished by enforcement officers.

Parking enforcement officers on duty
The hotline was introduced when Lincolnshire County Council took over the responsibility for on-street parking enforcement in December.
Mick Phoenix, parking services manager for Lincolnshire County Council, said: "The hotline provides a quick and easy way for people to report illegal parking issues to us.

"If a member of the public spots a car which is parked illegally, they can call our team who will respond accordingly.
"Lincolnshire is a big county, but the hotline means that there are no blind spots when it comes to parking enforcement.
"Our officers are always vigilant.
"But with the public acting as our eyes and ears, we are able to deal with problems much more effectively and efficiently.
"The reporting line has become extremely helpful in this respect and has boosted the enforcement team's efficiency."
The county's streets are patrolled by a team of 20 parking enforcement officers.
In January, a total of 3,603 parking tickets were slapped on windscreens.
This was down by 619 on December 2012.
Motorists have appealed against 739 of the fines, with 266 being successful.
To report a parking problem in Lincolnshire, residents can call the hotline on 01522 511142.
Alternatively, e-mail parkingservices@lincolnshire.gov.uk with the information concerned.
Parking bosses will then investigate and liaise with the firm which carries out parking enforcement.
Responsibility for on-street parking enforcement in North Lincolnshire was taken on by North Lincolnshire Council in March 2010.

“Bit of a change in tact from the council now. When I reported this sort of thing to them on their website along with pictures all the council did was come round & give the persons involved a slap on the wrist, telling me that although there is a bye law against parking on grass verges it was not one that they enforced & that I have to go careful as it might look as though I had a witch hunt out against the persons involved. Still we shall see as it would be good if they do do something about it. There are too many people with the attitude that they can park where they like blocking paths etc.......”
