technology: In a major step forward to improve the nation's broadband coverage, Quickline Commun- ications has extended its service provision to Kent.

Currently operating a fixed wireless broadband network in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, the company has signed a new wholesale agreement with southern based OrbitalNet that will allow it to share infrastructure.

Steve Jagger, managing director of Quickline, said: "Our philosophy of joined-up-thinking, rather than competing has enabled us to service other areas of the UK."
