Indoor play area approved for Isle of Axholme visitor attraction Shepherds Place
A MAJOR centre for rare breed animals in the Isle has been given the go-ahead to convert a barn into an indoor play area.
Shepherds Place in Westwoodside opened its doors to the public in May last year and is a family tourist attraction.
It homes breeds from all over the world, including New Zealand, South America and west Africa.
Animals at Shepherds Place include a llama and saddleback pigs and sheep from Cameroon and Holland.
There are also horses, Mediterranean donkeys, Angora and pygmy goats, a British White cow, a limousin cow and a miniature dexter cow.
Now the facility will develop further with plans for an indoor play area and refreshment area.
The family business at Akeferry Road is run by James and Larraine Ogg, who are part of a well-known North Lincolnshire farming family.
