It follows the bittersweet but inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work in order to achieve their dream of "hitting the heights" and putting their "name in lights."

With insight and humor, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today, including prejudice, identity, self-worth, literacy and perseverance.

Over forty students are taking part in the production, including actors, singers, dancers, sound technicians, lighting assistants, stage crew and costumiers.

Mrs Bradbury, Performing Arts subject consultant, hopes the production which has been directed by Mike Ferrington and choreographed by Miss Turner will be a performance to remember.

Shani Leather who plays the part of Mabel, says "I'm really excited to be a part of such a big school production, it has brought the whole school together through musical theatre."

Deputy Head Teacher, Mr Maxson, said "We are very proud of the hard work and talent of our students and staff, who have been working for almost a year towards this production.  I am very much looking forward to watching the production which, if rehearsals are anything to go by, will be wonderful."

Tickets cost £4.00 for Adults and £2.00 Concessions and may be purchased at the school reception, or for more information please call 01724 292920.
