Investigations continue after raiders target Barton Co-operative store

Police are continuing to investigate an incident at a store in Barton-Upon-Humber.

The incident took place at the Co-operative Food Store on Market Street between 3.40am and 4am on November 4.

A red Ford Ka reversed into the secure doors of the shop.

This enabled two people to gain access to the cash machine, which they made an attempt to steal.

This was unsuccessful and the offenders then drove away in another vehicle, leaving the Ford at the scene.

A spokeswoman for the Co-Operative said: "We can confirm

that The Co-operative Bank cash machine, situated outside The Co-operative Food

store at Market Lane, Barton-upon-Humber was involved in an attempted raid in

the early hours of Sunday morning.

"We are

currently assisting the police with their investigations." 

A Humberside Police spokeswoman confirmed that inquiries were still ongoing.

It is not know at this time if any money was stolen.
