Isle pub taps into growing tourist trade with en-suite Lodge rooms
There is now more room at the inn for people wanting to stay in the Isle of Axholme.
North Lincolnshire planning committee councillors - meeting in Scunthorpe very recently - were told of a growing need in the Isle for places to stay.
Concrete steps have now been taken to meet this demand at the River Don Tavern in Eastoft.
For mine hosts Gordon and Karen Crowe have declared the River Don Lodge officially open, with four luxury en-suite rooms.

Landlord and owner Gordon said of visitors to the Isle looking for accommodation: “There are not many places for people to stay if they want to come and enjoy what the area has to offer or if they’re visiting friends and family.
“We decided to expand our offering by building four brand new, self-contained en-suite rooms in our grounds.”
The River Don Tavern is an award-winning CAMRA real ale pub.
Eastoft is in the northern part of the Isle of Axholme, midway between Scunthorpe and Goole.
It is almost exactly half-way between tourist favourite cities York and Lincoln.
