Deborah Gibson, prosecuting, said Gibbons crashed the stolen Vauxhall Corsa in to a wall on Willoughby Road on November 30, just minutes after stealing it.
Andrew Pascoe, mitigating, asked for the sentence to be served at the same time as a 14-month sentence he was given for affray at Grimsby Crown Court last year.

“A real pillar of society this one. Fourteen months for affray. Eight weeks for causing mayhem, to be served concurrently. He's got off lightly. He also gets disqualified from driving for eighteen months. How can you get disqualified when you aren't qualified in the first place? In truth he has received no punishment at all from the Magistrates Court who once again have let the Police and the Public down.”
