Jake Quickenden not picked for X Factor live finals
Jake Quickenden's X Factor dream is over after he was not selected for the live stages of the TV singing contest.
Jake, 24, from Bottesford, beat thousands of other hopefuls to make it to the Judges' Houses round of the competition.
But after jetting out to Dubai to sing for judge Nicole Scherzinger, he was given the news he was to go no further.
After being forced to select only three of the six remaining contestants in the category for male singers, Nicole faced a tough decision on which ones to take forward.

Watched by millions of viewers across the country, she told Jake: "I'm sorry Jake, I just don't think you are ready yet."
A disappointed Jake burst into tears but replied: "Thank you for everything."

“It was such a shame Jake did not get through, I was really routing for him. In his audition last night he was not as strong as he had been, and think it's a sensible decision that Nicole made.
My heart sincerely goes out to Jake, I couldn't imagine losing my little brother, but if he was to read this...... Do you brother proud Jake like you have done already, work hard this year, return next year, and blow us all away! I and many others would vote for you, you have had it so tough this year, and you above many really deserve the oppertunity .
