NEW jobs could be brought to a Scunthorpe food factory following a £24-million takeover deal.

The Sauce Company (TSC), which has a factory on Arkwright Way in the town, has been taken over by Key Capital Partners.

The deal involved major cash investment by five long-standing managers at the firm and Jonathan Skofic, a former executive of Cott Beverages - the drinks company behind energy drink Red Rooster.

News of the take-over deal broke yesterday on

TSC Commercial director Mandy Taylor is one of the managers who has put money in to the firm.

She said: "If things continue as they are doing, it is very likely that we will do that [employ more staff].

"KCP have already agreed to an increase in the filling capacity.

"If we are buying new equipment, we will need new staff."

In the short term, Mrs Campbell said day to day operations would remain the same.

The new management team is set to sit down and take a strategic look at ways to grow the business in Scunthorpe.

Mrs Campbell added: "If it's not broken, don't fix it."

Key Capital Partners (KCP) has offices based in Leeds, Cambridge and Birmingham. The company specialises in small to mid-market buy-outs.

Recently, KCP has invested £4.3-million in Templine Recruitment and £2.25-million in fashion label Sabotage.

“I agree with Malc, this is a great move forward for the company.

This not only helps secure the jobs here but also will create more jobs in the forthcoming years.

The new robots will not actually reduce TSC headcount but will reduce agency costs and will allow extra capacity which in-turn will allow TSC Foods to supply more supermarkets and increase the overall headcount. This will be done by obtaining a new packing machine which will be operational by September. This new packing machine along with the 2 other pots packing machines would have put the Casing team under too much pressure and increased risks of RSI's (Repetitive Strain Injuries). The robots will manage this with no issues and will still need to be operated by the current number of staff in TSC Foods Casing Department.

Well done to the TSC Team.”

“I love working at TSC Foods and have done so for over 10 years.

This is a great step forward for the company and helps me maintain my ambition of only leaving TSC Foods in a wooden box.

Great move for the 7 Managers involved and good to see us moving forward in the Food Industry.”
