AFTER a three-week lay-off because of the snow, Holme Hall men played a Better Ball Stableford on a slightly shortened course.

Although they were just out of the prizes, two players had a special round in other ways.

Firstly, John Bowring had an albatross two at the par five ninth and secondly, Dean Parkinson managed a two at the par four 17th for an eagle.

The winners were Peter Chamberlain and Chris Hall, with 45 points, from second placed David Ames and Lawrence Smith (44).

This will be followed on Sunday, February 10 by a men's Am/Am.

On Sunday, the ladies held their Waltz competition.

In first place, with 78 points, were Emilee Taylor, Anne Wright, Jenny Spavin and Jeanette Urry.

In second place, with 72 points and a better back nine, was the quartet of Jean List, Jill Haresign, Shirley Wynne and Enid Meadows.
