THE Steelmen finally have their first home game of the season tomorrow against Pontefract.

And they will be hoping to collect their first point after three successive away defeats.

"It has been a difficult start," confessed joint-manager Simon Shorthose.

"The way the league fixtures have been arranged, we have had big gaps between our three games so far.

"We have a fairly young side but we seem to be running out of steam in the closing stages of games against teams who have better match fitness than us at the moment.

"I'm having a bit of a go at the league here, because that's as a result of how the fixtures have fallen for us."

Tomorrow's visitors Pontefract have already played six league games – twice as many as Frod.

"Our home form was not very good last season but hopefully we can turn that round – and maybe be unbeaten this time," added Shorthose.
