Jones leaves for loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday
SCUNTHORPE United's club record signing Rob Jones has joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan for the rest of the season.
The centre-back has featured sporadically for the Iron, with a sciatica problem keeping him side-lined.

Rob Jones has left for Sheffield Wednesday on loan.
During that time he has fallen down the pecking order, with Michael Nelson and Paul Reid, brought in during January, as well as Michael Raynes and David Mirfin, all ahead of the former Hibernian man.

“I'm gonna be fair to the guy. He got much, much better as time went on. That said, he still wasn't good enough for the Championship. Time to move on.”

“It is time us supporters had a bit of good news, we have waited long enough for this!!
Really surprised that Sheffield Wed have made a move for him, because of all the bad games that sick note had, his 20 mins at Hillsbough were the worst of his few matches for us.
What a waste of club money, £350,000 transfer fee and £7,000 a week for two years, which brings the clubs outlay to approx £1,000,000, for what ?????”

“Good riddance. Jones is completely useless at any level in English football. An Adkins signing lets not forget.”

“This is the perfect time for David Mirfin to claim his rightful place alongside Nelson to give is a solid defence.
He has been hinting he will move on in the summer because he is not playing since his injury.
Yet another player we can,'t let leave for free.
Jones is history.”

“This should prepare him for next season when he should have adapted to the English game once more - a ready made replacement for Mirfin.”
