GOALKEEPER Steve Cassidy was among the scorers as College Wanderers bagged a perfect 10 without reply in Division One of the Saturday League.

Scunthonians were the unfortunate victims against the league leaders, who are level on points with Epworth Town at the top, though with a game in hand.

College were 4-0 up at the break through a Danny Varley hat-trick and a strike from Wayne Graves. And they completed the rout in the second half.

Graves' second was the goal of the game as he jinked his way past three players on the edge of the box then chipped the keeper from 20 yards.

Keeper Cassidy joined in when he went up for a corner a minute from time and put the ball in with his left foot.

Wanderers travel to Limestone on Saturday for a game that is always tough.

Epworth kept pace at the top with a 5-1 triumph at Crowle Town Colts.

In Division Two, Limestone Rangers Reserves home game with Sherpa and New Holland Villa against Scotter United reserves were both postponed due to the weather.

Second-bottom Harsco Metals were well beaten by the team directly above them in the Division Three table, losing 7-1 at home to Leggott's.

The Scunthorpe and District Local Football Charity Shield game, postponed from Christmas has been rearranged for Tuesday, March 19.

It sees the Saturday League's College Wanderers take on the Sunday League's Beacon in a game which also incorporates the Ashby Benevolent Cup.

The game takes place at Brumby Hall with a 7pm kick-off.
