Kirton student hopes to boldly go on trek into Space
AN ASTROPHYSICS student from Kirton is competing against thousands of people for a trip into space.
Ben Torn, 18, has entered the Lynx Space Academy, which will see one UK entrant flown into space.

The competition, which is being run in more than 70 countries, will see 22 winners given a trip to space, courtesy of body fragrance company Lynx.
And Ben, who studies at Liverpool University, is currently in a position that would qualify him for the space academy boot camp.

The top 200 entrants with the highest votes will qualify for the Lynx Space Academy challenge weekend, held this summer, where they will face physical and mental Nasa-style tests.
Ben, who is currently in the top 200 out of more than 13,000 applicants, said: "I have always been interested in space, ever since I got a telescope when I was seven years old.
"The thought of it just blows my mind."
