A number of residents had previously complained about the smells coming from the site.

The report was given by North Lincolnshire councillor Ralph Ogg, a ward councillor of Burton-Upon-Stather and Winterton, at a Winterton Town Council meeting.

Mr Ogg said: "Most of them are gas omissions, not waste smells.

"All eight wells were sunk and pipes are now in situ."

Mayor Francesca Marritt said: "We want people to continue to log complaints with smells as and when they occur."
