Lincolnshire memorial service for loved ones killed in road accidents is open to people from Scunthorpe and district

A service in Lincoln to remember all those who have died on our roads, and to give thanks for the work of the emergency services, will be held on Sunday, November 18.

And the North Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership is extending an invitation to those who have lost loved ones on the roads in our area.

The emergency services will be there along with the North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, and Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, and Churches Together In All Lincolnshire.

Refreshments will be served after the service and there will be an opportunity for everyone to meet.

The service will be held at 3pm at St George’s Church, Swallowbeck, Eastbrooke Road, Lincoln.

Councillor Nigel Sherwood (Brigg and Wolds), cabinet member for highways and neighbourhoods at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “The memorial service aims to give friends and relatives the opportunity to come together and remember their loved ones who sadly lost their lives in road accidents across North Lincolnshire.

“It is tragic no matter what the circumstances. To lose someone creates a huge sense of loss.

"It is hoped the event will give people comfort and the opportunity to meet other people who have suffered.”
