Local firm to deliver BSF project

construction: A family-owned Hull construction firm has been appointed to deliver part of the city's £400 million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

Hull Esteem Consortium was appointed by Hull City Council to deliver the BSF project, which is designed to revolutionise the city's educational estate. It has brought Houlton on-board to deliver two key projects.

Houlton has been trading in the city for more than 130 years and the company's first foray into the programme was a £360,000 renovation of a specialist centre, which provides support and education for pregnant schoolgirls.

Once Houlton has finished the Schoolgirl Mums' Unit in Boulevard, west Hull, work with then begin on the £7.5 million relocation of Hull Trinity House Academy this month.

Formed as a preferred supplier by Hull City Council to deliver the BSF, Hull Esteem Consortium is a tripartite partnership which includes Hull-based Sewell Group, national construction company Morgan Sindall and Roberston Capital Projects.
