Luxury box under the hammer for Iron's game against Manchester United
A GENEROUS local business is hoping to score a huge boost for the Dylan's Dream campaign by auctioning its luxury seats for one of the biggest games Glanford Park has ever seen.
Scunthorpe estate agents Lawrence James will auction off their 10-seater executive box at Glanford Park for United's Carling Cup clash with Premier League giants Manchester United.

CHEERING HIM ON: From left, Richard Foster, Nick Whipps and Ben Burgin, of Scunthorpe estate agents Lawrence James, with Dylan Storey.
It is hoped the auction will raise thousands of pounds for five-year-old Dylan, who needs £50,000 for the pioneering surgery which could help him walk for the first time.
Nick Whipps, of Lawrence James, said: "We'd seen the campaign in the Telegraph and had been discussing what we could do to help.
"We drew Man United in the cup at the weekend, which is an absolutely massive event for the club and the town and we saw it as the perfect opportunity to do our bit for the campaign.
"We're hoping it will bring as much money to the campaign as possible, as where Man United are involved there will be a lot of people wanting to see the game."
The £8,000-a-season box includes luxury facilities including bar access, a flat screen television and a range of snacks and refreshments.
But Mr Whipps insists he had no second thoughts over sacrificing his luxury surroundings for the good of the Dylan's Dream campaign.
He said: "It's a great environment to watch the match in, and we're sure there'll be lots of Manchester United fans interested as well as Scunthorpe fans.
"It's just great to be able to help, and although we won't have the box, we'll still be watching the game from the stands so we won't be missing any of the action."
The package includes a 10-seater executive box, coffee and biscuits, an official match programme for each fan, and a pre-match meal provided by Lawrence James.
The sealed-bid auction will be run by Lawrence James, and will close at midnight on Friday, September 19.
A reserve price of £1,000 has been set, with the highest offer landing 10 people the chance to watch one of the biggest games of the Iron's history in executive luxury.
To submit your bid write to Dylan's Dream Competition, Lawrence James Estate Agents, 6 Oswald Road, Scunthorpe, DN15 7PT.
Entries should include contact details and the amount you or your company would like to bid. Winners will be contacted by Lawrence James with tickets available for collection ahead of the big game at Glanford Park.

“as good as it is that you auctioned the box to raise money you wrent really sacrificing anything seen as you get to use the box for free anyway. How about you dip into your pockets and make a donation out of your own profits as well. You claim to be selling loads of houses so surely you wont miss it and it would help this little boy on his way to receiving his treatment”

“Well done to all the Lawrence & James boys. What a great way of raising money for such a worthy cause. I know how much football, especially Scunthorpe United means to you all. I know you will still see the game from the stands, but still, a noble sacrifice for a great cause.”

“Agreed - it's a very nice touch...I hope they open the auction up to Man U fans too, that could well see some huge bids based on what MUFC charge per head/per game for likewise at Old Trafford (£499).
It'd be great for this 50k target to be reached before the clocks go forward.
Up the Iron!”
