Traffic congestion resulted in tailbacks to junction 5, for the M180.

A diversion was put in place around Doncaster and onto the A1 (M).

The Highways Agency has confirmed the road fully re-opened at 4pm after the investigation, recovery of the vehicles and the clearing of debris from the carriageway.
