M180 re-opens after motorists had faced 30-minute delays following collision

The M180 fully re-opened yesterday aftrnoon (Friday) after a collision between a light goods vehicle and a crane which had left two lanes blocked.

The incident happened at around 3.10pm on the westbound carriageway, between junction two near Belton and junction one for the A18 at Thorne.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene and firefighters used small tools and a ladder to get into the light goods vehicle for recovery.

Nobody was trapped in either vehicle and both drivers freed themselves after the collision.

Two lanes were closed on the westbound carriageway while the recovery work continued but the road was open again by around 6.30pm.
