MP backs the bid for digital hub

technology: Hull West and Hessle MP Alan Johnson has backed the Humber's bid to become a digital hub.

He joined LEP chair Lord Haskins and public and private sector leaders from across Hull and East Yorkshire to develop a strategy to secure the region's future as a hub for digital and technology businesses.

At the first Platform Digital Summit in Hull, representatives from industry, local government and education were briefed on the economic benefits of building a strong digital and technology sector.

Alan Johnson MP said: "We already have some of the infrastruc- ture in place to support the growth of this sector and many more developments are already planned or under way, which sets Hull and the Humber apart from other areas in the UK.
