Man taken to hospital after crash in Barrow

A man was taken to hospital after a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Barrow-Upon-Humber last night (Wednesday October 24).

The incident happened about 5.30pm on College Road and involved a car and a heavy goods vehicle.

    Humberside Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene of the accident in Barrow last night

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene and although the man was not trapped in the car, he was suffering from suspected neck and back injuries.

Firefighters made the decision to cut away one of the vehicle's supporting posts and remove the back seats.

The man was then taken from the car on a spinal board, before being transported to hospital.

Firefighters left the incident with Humberside Police officers.
