Manchester United star RVP - Robin Van Persie - gives VIP status to Broughton couple Liam and Alice Thompson

BROUGHTON cancer sufferer Liam Thompson and his wife Alice were afforded VIP status by Manchester United star footballer Robin Van Persie and his club. And they also met actress Sally Lindsay who has appeared in Coronation Street and The Royle Family.

They watched Manchester United’s game against Sunderland in Robin Van Persie’s box at Old Trafford.

The striker then took them out to dinner with his family.

Alice said: “Robin Van Persie got in touch to invite us to watch him play and have dinner. The excitement is never ending.”
