Marcus Williams on verge of completing Scunthorpe United return
FULL-back Marcus Williams will rejoin Scunthorpe United on loan tomorrow – 10 months after he walked out on the club to join Championship rivals Reading.
The 24-year-old is the signing chief scout Lee Turnbull told the Telegraph the Iron were confident of securing before the transfer window closes tomorrow.

Williams moves back to United on loan until the end of the campaign, with caretaker manager Tony Daws hoping he will be back at Glanford Park for training in the morning.
“He is a player I wanted to bring back because we need an injection of pace in the team and we do not have too many left footers,” said Daws.
“I know things have not gone well for him at Reading and thought it was a good opportunity to bring him back here on loan.
“We know all about him, and he knows the set-up here at Scunthorpe and will not need time to settle in.
“With only a short time left before the end of the season, that is also important.”
Out-of-contract Williams quit the Iron last summer to join the Royals.
But he has made only three appearances for the Berkshire club and was loaned out to Peterborough for a month at the end of last year where he made a further three appearances.
His arrival will provide the club with more cover down the left flank, but will disappoint supporters who had been hoping for an attacking option.

“Tony Daws hasn't ruled out another signing tomorrow on the official website and this is supposed to be "the striker". Just watch it to turn out to be another centre half.”

“i don't blame Daws for this but signing Williams is a step backwards, we need attacking players not defenders, so what we have got will have to do, no more bodies comeing in to G.P this is going from bad to worse, as if we don't get any sort of momentome going in to the end of the season we will start next season poorly espeacily if lawsy takes over as he's a obitchual poor starter upi”
