Market Rasen gin makers offer cash tonic to berry collectors
Lincolnshire's Market Rasen racecourse is to launch its own brand of sloe gin and is appealing for the help of Lincolnshire’s hedgerow foragers.
The racecourse will pay £1 for every kilo of sloes as it endeavours to create ‘Ginious’ in time for its big Boxing Day fixture.

An advertisement was placed in the racing programme for Sunday’s fixture making the appeal for sloes before the next meeting on Thursday, November 22.
Pip Kirkby, the racecourse’s general manager, said: “The wet summer means it hasn’t been the greatest of years for sloes, but we’re confident that the resourceful people of Lincolnshire will assist us. We’re an English country racecourse and what could be more traditional than if we create our own sloe gin!”
