Men overcome a tentative start to claim victory
WITH one win out of three, Scunthorpe Men arrived at Skegness looking for a positive performance and result in the Lincolnshire County Men's League.
The visitors started a little tentatively, with Skegness taking an early overall lead of 23 shots to 19.
However, once Scunthorpe had settled from their long journey they started to edge their way into the match and held a 49-39 overall lead by the halfway point.
Throughout the second half of the match the visitors produced some excellent play to gain a stronger hold on the match.

They extended their lead and eventually ran out winners by 16 points to two (110-82 shots).
The Scunthorpe rink of John Whitwell, John Fleming, Rob Skinner and Paul Grimbleby led all the way though their game to win 24-9.
Vinny Bolton, Len Lammas, Alex Mullin and Jim Davidson also led throughout, winning by a comfortable 22-12.
The visiting quartet of John Rayner, Arthur Meggett, Ron Kelly and Graham Teal were involved in a very close battle but took the victory, 18-15.
Dennis Rhodes, Norman Anderson, Neil Rowe and Phil Boulton were behind all game. But they collected six shots and two shots on the final two ends, mainly due to some outstanding shots by the skip, to win 26-24.
The final visiting rink of Bill Hutson, James Staples, Steve Redhead and Steve Burton found their opponents in excellent form. They kept the game close, losing by just 22-20.
The Scunthorpe team travelled the long journey home extremely satisfied with their superb result.
