In October 2011 North Lincolnshire Council, the education authority, successfully applied to the Department for Education for funding to create a new-build primary school.
Formal consultation with the public took place in May, June and July this year with 93 per cent who took part being in favour of amalgamation.
Both schools held open days during the summer when council representatives were available to answer questions people had about the proposal.
The proposal before Councillor Waltham is to create one school from September 2014 on the Grange Lane Junior site.
