"It made perfect sense to have one offering so whatever the type of commercial property, there is an element of the business that can service it.
"This merger makes us a true one-stop shop for any commercial premises."
Mr Watts said the two businesses started to explore the idea quite a while ago.
He said: "It is quite difficult to continue to grow your business organically and we could see that with this, there was a really good future.
"It doubles the opportunities in almost everything.
"It is a really exciting opportunity and the key thing is, it opens up the market place."
The merger means the single business has the opportunity to expand and, according to Mr Watts, this could create new jobs.
He said: "There is scope to increase the staff and by bringing the two businesses together, it creates a much stronger one with the ability to grow quite quickly because the marketplace is being opened up significantly.
"The combined in-house expertise will make the whole procurement process simpler and should also deliver a cost benefit to our clients.
"It also creates a genuine turn-key package for all our clients."
The company will begin trading as ISIS Commercial Environments from March 1 and the main functions of the business will remain in Hull, with offices in Leeds and York.
Iain Gillard, managing director of iGSG, said: "Merging brings clear advantages and creates a company with a significantly enhanced service and product portfolio.
"We have some exciting opportunities ahead of us and we are all looking forward to building the single brand."
Mr Watts said: "The purpose of this merger is to facilitate growth and the current workforce is key to that goal. The two businesses complement each other perfectly."
