She was one of the supporting artists in the ITV show and appeared as an extra in a spin-off DVD for the show.

Although she did not have a speaking role, the appeal of television work has whetted Katie's appetite.

She said: "I am hoping to carry on both acting and modelling and being part of Emmerdale made me decide to keep my options open.

"I am not afraid to travel around to get more experience and I would love to do more television work.

"Last Christmas I was in a festive TV commercial for Frenchgate Shopping Centre in Doncaster. Television work just feels so exciting and I would love to have a big part in a soap, and hopefully a film."

In the past, Katie has appeared in shows at the Plowright Theatre in Scunthorpe, as well as productions in West, East and South Yorkshire.

Her modelling work has seen her model for camera clubs in Newark, Retford, Ashby and Doncaster and she also featured in a photographic portrait at the "Shutter Clutter" Exhibition in Gallery Revealed, on Robert Street in Scunthorpe.

Having tried her hand at different forms of modelling and acting, Katie hopes to eventually emulate her ultimate idol, Marilyn Monroe.

"Marilyn Monroe went through the experience of fashion and modelling, as well as acting," said Katie.

"She was an actual idol by being so successful as an actress and a model. I really look up to her for inspiration when thinking about my future."

Katie currently lives with her family in Messingham and keeps an unusual assortment of pets alongside her glamorous career.

She said: "I have six sheep and two pigs that I keep as pets, which all of my friends think is very odd.

"I love them all and decided to get them because me and my Dad thought it would be fun. They definitely aren't your average pet, but we can't imagine life without them now.

"If I was to move away because of work, I suppose I would get my Dad to look after them."
