A right winger by trade who can also play in the centre of midfield, Sedgwick was released by Sheffield Wednesday in the summer after two years at Hillsborough.
He started his career at Rotherham United, becoming something of a fans' favourite and earning the nickname The Yorkshire Express because of his Sheffield upbringing, affection for the club and hard-working approach.

After over 250 appearances and 20 goals over seven years, Sedgwick joined Preston North End in 2004 for £400,000.
He thrived at Deepdale while Billy Davies was in charge, but his place in the team became less certain following managerial changes and his contract was not extended in 2010.
