SCUNTHORPE exacted revenge for a disappointing result at home to Louth when they made the trip for the reverse fixture in the Lincolnshire County Mixed League.

The visitors flew straight out of the blocks, securing a lead of 58 shots to 42 by the halfway stage with some fine play.

They went on to secure a very welcome 14 points to four (113 shots to 85) victory.

Sue Wooldridge, Greta Deboer, Warwick Wooldridge and Graham Teal won by a comfortable 35 shots to 13.

The rink of Sylvia Lammas, Vera Gleghorn, Arthur Meggett and Jim Davidson were always in control of their match, winning 25-16.

John Rayner, Chris Boulton, Josey Rayner and Phil Boulton secured an early 9-3 lead and although their opponents started to claw their way back into the game, the Scunthorpe four held their nerve to win 21-19.

Julie Hargraves, June Tomlinson, Len Lammas and Alex Mullin found their opponents in excellent form, losing 16-15.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the final Scunthorpe rink consisted of only Jackie Pettitt, Dennis Rhodes and Ray Robinson.

The trio found the going difficult but managed to match the scoring rate of the Louth four for most of the match, eventually losing 21-17.
